This is an antique dinner gong. An English, fruitwood and brass large table chime in Arts & Crafts taste, dating to Edwardian period, circa 1910.
Fascinating dinner table gong with a pleasing ring
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Select fruitwood shows bright caramel hues and fine grain interest
Small hook to the side neatly situates the striking gong
Hand-beaten brass shield gong shows great patination, decorated with foliate and star motif
Turned wooden mallet with leather pad for gentle striking
Gong suspended beneath the frame with quality leather cord
Raised upon a pair of tapering block feet with stretcher rail for support
