This is a very smart Chinese marriage cabinet which dates from around 1900. The double door cabinet is in solid elm with a black lacquer which has a very nice warm patina and some attractive rubbing just to the edges. The doors have a large solid brass plate fastening and decorative brass drop handles. Inside the cabinet has very practical shelves, a central drawer and also a large concealed compartment to the base. The cabinet is in excellent condition and would add great drama to any room. It measures 174 cms high, 106 cms wide and is 60 cms deep.
