An adorable antique celluloid souvenir compact in excellent condition.
The lid is beautiful showing the house where Shakespeare was born on Henley Street, Stratford-upon-Avon - it is finely detailed and in very good condition. The celluloid lid is protected by a plastic cover which accounts for such good condition. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The metal mirror is in good condition & gives a clear reflection. The interior case contains a tap flap inscribed 'PAT. 247962 WORLD WIDE PATENTS'. The tap lap flap works perfectly. It was so delightful to find the original unused puff with this compact. The pretty blue silk puff is in excellent condition too. The base has a typical Art Deco design of clam-shell like waves set within a smooth silver tone border.

This charming celluloid powder compact measures 2" & weighs 46.2 grams.
