An unusual and decorative antique carved oak settle. Dating from the late 17th to 18th Century with later 19th Century carving and additions. The carved back panels depicting a church a farmstead and a sailing boat with the date 1642 carved across the top. With carved cabriole legs, this large and impressive piece would grace any room.

Condition Report:
Good colour and patina. Fairly solid – some slight give and movement as to be expected for its age. An old mend to the back leg – see photo – an old mended break with screws. Various splits to other legs. Section of foot missing. Various carcks and splist to seat. Other wear and marks commensurate with age. Later carving.
