This is an antique adjustable reading table. An English, mahogany event lectern or recital stand, dating to the William IV period, circa 1835.
Exceptional and fascinating reading table of the finest quality
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
Select stocks show fine grain interest and wonderful warm caramel hues
Adjustable for height and reading angle, ideal for an institution
Wide top surface presents beautifully, with removable paper rest
Gently chamfered corners aids comfort when reading
Set upon a ratchet, the rest can adjust to approximately 85 degrees vertical
Elegant turned release removes the locking pins to the height riser
Offers six stops of adjustment, situated within an inset metal bracket
Risers concealed within striking gadrooned legs, gently tapering to the feet
Pair of shaped trestle feet with bulbous scrolled toes
The stand riding gently upon a quartet of blind castors
