A Regency storage chest
An unusual Regency boarded pine storage chest covered in striped floral silk fabric. The fabric is original but it is fragile. It has cuban mahogany reeded peripheral moldings to the hinged top and base.
This fabric covered chest was possibly especially commissioned by the original owner. The lack of provision for a lock would indicate that it was not intended to store valuable items and prevent access by servants or less scrupulous visitors.
