A rare George III door stop is in the form of a classical lion. This solid cast iron stop is heavy enough to hold back the largest of doors. Its unusual proportions are due to giving room to grip around its belly for lifting giving a slightly elongated form.
This door stop has spent time outdoors and has a rough pitted surface which has been wax polished at a later date. Circa 1770 We no longer have shop premises. All of our items can be viewed online.
