A Rare 16th Century English Plank Coffer
A rare and large 16th century English six plank coffer constructed from oak.
The coffer has fantastic colour and patination and has a single piece paneled top, complete with original hinges and hasp, the hasp has lost some of its bracket where it was once nailed to the underneath of the lid. The lock plate is a later addition but is 16th century and of the same period. The coffer is in excellent condition and is a superb piece of early English antique furniture.
