This beautifully carved root figure has an incredible amount of detail, from the bone inlaid eyes and teeth to the fine pewter line that has been used to decorate much of the figures clothing. Circa 1880 (lamp conversion later) 610 mm high, 150mm wide and 125mm deep. W J Gravener Antiques is a family owned business, started in 1963 by William who was joined by son, Mark in 1981 and continues today with the same ethos of dealing in fine quality English and Continental furniture, mirrors and decorative objects, from the 18th & 19th centuries.
