6' 5" Tall Antique Hall Stand, English Oak, C.1890
This is a tall antique hall stand. An English, carved oak stick and coat rack in Gothic revival taste, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880.
Distinctive Gothic revival carvings decorate this striking stand
Displays a desirable aged patina and presented in good order
Select oak with fine grain interest and deep caramel hues beneath a wax polish finish
Original, quality bevelled mirror plate with desirable light foxing and clear reflection
Impressive upstand with enthusiastic carvings a visual delight
Crown moulding above a carved frieze, adorned with foliate patera and diamond lozenges
Decorative borders abound, further graced by elegant shaped wings
Dressed with six, prominent turned coat and hat rails of robust form
Glove box drawer emboldened with a superb Green Man masque
Turned baluster supports with square sections to rear, surrounding a useful pair of stick stands
Removable drip trays to under tier provides drainage for umbrellas
Standing upon a pair of broad bun feet to the fore
