19th Century Scottish Inlaid 2 Tier Table Scottish Parquetry Table %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
Most insteresting small 19th century mahogany and beautifully inlaid two tier occasional table. Very much in the style of southern hemisphere pieces but almost certainly Scottish. The table has solid mahogany square tapering legs and frame with the shelf and top also of solid mahogany under the veneers. Both the top and shelf are beautifully veneered in very intricate fashion with various woods including satin birch, laburnum, walnut, oak and what looks like hickory. The design of both the top and shelf is very pleasing. The top has been secured with massive triangular blocks, some of which have various designs for the top scribbled on them in pencil. There are no repairs and no damage apart from a couple of very minor cracks. The table is a nice colour with waxed finish.

The under tier, underneath is signed by the maker and has the woods used written in pencil, feint but legible.
