19th Century Japanese marquetry cabinet
A fabulous quality late 19th Century Japanese marquetry cabinet, inlaid and veneered in exotic woods, this is without doubt the best quality of it’s kind, the inlay is amazing and the mounts are silvered on copper, there are sliding doors on cupboards, shelves with pierced fret work galleries, a tambour door revealing pigeon holes, a pair of cupboard doors opening to reveal five drawers then a single shaped door opening to reveal a single drawer, on the back of the door is a lacquered picture, below this there are two drawers, the whole piece rests on a stand of equal quality. Circa 1880.
