A very distinctive elm pedestal table pedestal table raised on a baluster and ring turned column terminating with elegant tripod legs and tapering feet. As often happens with elm, the one piece top of this antique table has taken unusual contours, giving it a very individual and quirky look. The table top is edged with elm banding and has a superb grain and patina. There have been historic repairs to the base of the pedestal and evidence of old woodworm (as can be seen in the photographs) This has been treated again for peace of mind. Both issues are to be expected on a piece that is almost 200 years old and are not detrimental in any way. A very charming country table, perfect for use as a wine or lamp table.
