19th Century Chinese Watercolour Painting on Pith gouache chinese
This is a beautiful Chinese watercolour painting which dates from the 19th century. The painting is of a pair of silver pheasants in a rocky landscape with colourful flowers. It is wonderfully executed in vibrant gouache colours and is set off by its original gold leaf edged mount. The painting is in good condition save for a couple of minor breaks to the pith and is set within a soft green marbled frame which suits it well. It is a good size, measuring 41 cms by 35 cms overall.
