We are offering for sale this very nice hand painted porcelain 19th Century table lamp and shade from the makers of the Downton Abbey lampshades, the base previously converted from a vase. The porcelain vase depicting a garden scene, with two ladies sitting on a bench, one with a small lapdog, while a gentleman, with his hat in one hand, is showing them the results of his morning hunt. The scene continues around the back with a turreted castle next to a lake.

The lamp has an ornate brass cap on the top of the vase and a very pretty shell ornamented brass base.
The shade is a 'Ballerina' shape, with the crown in soft green sateen, and the body in gold sateen, with gold fringe, soft green tassels and matching two tone braid.

The lamp has been rewired in full, including new plug and lampholder but, as with all electrical items, it is recommended that it be checked by a qualified electrician prior to use.
Height to top of shade 21 1/2" - 54.55
Diameter of shade 12 1/2" - 31.75cm

Height to base of lampholder 15" - 38cm

Width of base 6 7/8" - 17.5cm

Condition Very good condition with no losses. The shade is new and is supplied with a shade carrier.
