This is a beautiful French style plafonnier (platform style) chandelier. It was probably made in either Egypt or Turkey in the 1960s and found it's way over to the UK.

It hangs from a fixed metal rod and has false suspension chains. It is dressed with hard-wired on glass buttons and tiny beads. It is lit with two ses bulbs internally. A very pretty piece at a fraction of the cost of an original from 1900.
