A high quality 1950s Stratton vanity set comprising of a matching 'Princess' loose powder compact and lipstick holder. The set is adorned with the most adorable smooth tone gold daisy form flower on a contrasting finely engraved linear engine turned design. The powder compact and the lipstick holder are made from highly polished gilding metal (brass) which was coated at the point of manufacture with a layer of transparent enamel. This process guarantees that these accessories will never tarnish or need to be cleaned. This type of engine turned design has resulted in such a superbly rendered finish that fingerprints will not show.

All clasps, hinges and the self-opening inner lid work perfectly. The compact opens to reveal a bevelled mirror which gives a perfect reflection. The original mirror sticker is in place. The inner lid is signed 'Stratton'. The original features are present - pouch, puff and sifter. The base is decorated with smooth tone gold stars. The matching lipstick holder is also super. The pouch is made from thick good quality black felt.

The compact mirror measures 3" & weighs 85.8 grams. The lipstick holder measures just over 2" & weighs 10.1 grams.

The original hard 'luxon' clad case is in excellent condition. The interior lid is lined with pristine champagne coloured silk. The base is lined with maroon velvet. The compact and lipstick display area is removable. The area underneath is a antique jewellery case with a ring holder.
