Eighteenth century oak bookbinder’s press from the Low Countries c.1770. Sturdy oak press with long threaded screw carved in walnut, with a compartment below featuring a very attractive pierced door. On a separate stand with a single drawer raised on splendidly bulbous turned legs and feet joined with shaped stretchers for extra strength. Original turned finials and knobs, iron winding pin and five oak boards. Excellent colour and condition.
