18th Century Welsh Oak Coffer Bach Welsh Dragon Ca
This is a good 18th century Welsh oak coffer with attractive carved Welsh dragon detail and the date 1741 to the lid.
The chest has a good solid construction with unusual elongated stile design and forged metal hinges and lock plate. This has a good colour and patina throughout with attractive chip carved detail to the lid, front and sides with arcaded frieze and sunburst designs.
The chest is a useful size for storage being 64 cms in height. It measures 107 cms long by 43 cms deep.
