A truly magnificent mid 18th century oak coffer. This particular coffer features a magnificent Trojan’s head carving to top, and features panelled sides front panels being decoratively carved with picture scenes. The item has a carved date of 1638, but we believe this to be a later addition. It has a beautiful colour and patina, and would complement any large period property providing useful storage space as well as being a beautiful period feature. The item is in excellent condition for a piece of this age, and still has all of the original back boards and base boards. We believe that this piece is something different when compared to standard coffers and boxes.
