18th Cent Mahogany 8 Day Long Case / Grandfather Clock

A handsome 18th Cent mahogany longcase clock by Thurston Sharrock of Preston, Lancashire. He is listed as working there from 1782 to 1802.
The case is very good quality and in beautifully figured mahogany. It even has a solid oak back. The hood has a swan neck pediment with unusual lattice work panels. It has bold fluted columns with cast brass Corinthian capitals.
The good quality 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a nice clear early painted dial. The dial has a subsidiary seconds dial, date window and some most attractive gilt decoration.
The case is in good condition and a lovely colour. It has a few minor signs of age and use.
The movement is in good working order and keeping good time.
The maximum dimensions are:
226cm (89") high
55cm (21.5") wide
26cm (10") deep
Free local delivery and setup (60mls), national and international delivery arranged at cost.
