1882 British Calvary sword
A late Victorian Troopers Calvary sword in nice aged condition complete with Steel scabbard.
Distinctive Maltese Cross piercing to hilt with lots of army markings to blade Ricasso ( see photographs) and spine. Blade is slightly curved, spear pointed with single fuller and is circa 840mm in length (making it probably a 1882 short model rather than an 1885 or 1890) with the sword approximately 990mm overall.
Grip is leather strips riveted onto tang as in previous 1864 model.
Scabbard has two fixed rings and a detachable mouth.
A very nice example of a relatively late Calvary sword design with a nice patina in a good condition commiserate with its age.

Returns accepted if we are notified via e mail or post, within 14 days of purchase. Item must be returned in condition purchased from Mainly Military Antiques at purchasers cost for refund to then be issued.
