1822 Pattern exceptional infantry sword
Exceptional near mint example of an officers 1822 pattern infantry sword , which has been in the same collection for over 20 years and a very fine example that would be very hard to upgrade on , it has the original sword knot and very rare hilt liner rarely seen ,
This has the leather scabbard the steel scabbard was introduced later in 1866 the black leather hilt liner was abandoned in 1872 this also has the sharkskin grip which is the 1822 pattern , so this sword would date somewhere between 1845-1860
