A highly ornate 17th Century oak Joyned chest of good proportions,
most probably from Gloucestershire. This wonderful
chest original in colour has a superb decorative repertoire of carved Inter-locking fleurs-de-lys, Quatre foil
carved foliage panels,palmette carved muntins & stiles finished off with an s scroll lower rail & not forgetting the original single plank top.With wonderful presence and
personality it stands at a great height of just over 28 inches, the sides demonstrate well with a series of run moulding to top and lower rails, the back of the chest shows
a deep redish brown colouration to the oak, along with the triple back chamfered finished panels. Initialed IP to central front panel.
