An exceptional late 17th cent panelled oak coffer. The front has all its original relief carving. The panelled top is in excellent condition. This coffer has all its superb, original colour and surface patination and while showing a few of the expected signs of its period is in excellent, strong, firm condition. Sizes: 51”(130cms) wide, 21 ½ (54cms) deep, 25”(64cms) high. Date circa 1680. I have reluctantly decided that after 60 years spent in this marvellous business it is, figuratively speaking, time to hang up my cheque book.
