1796 pattern Blue & Gilt Infantry Officers sword in its partial leather scabbard (bottom section of scabbard and the end shape are missing). Gilded brass hilt with hardwood grip. Two gilt chape mounts to black leather scabbard. Single edged, straight blade with blue and gilt section with GR and Trophy of Arms and Royal Coat of Arms. Marked 'S' at the top of blade - probably for Solingen. General wear overall and some rubbing to gilt work. Grip wire missing and pitting and rusting to blade.

Approximately 85cm overall and blade 80cm.
