16thc Renaissance marriage chest. Panelled top and sides with strap hinges and carrying handles. The front having a central panel with lock and original key, flanked by two pregnant caryatids, two cartouches and another two pregnant caryatids. The left cartouche has the initials C B either side of three interlinked rings with three crossed arrows through the central ring. The right cartouche has the initials A K with an arrow hrough a squared arch. These are surmounted by a flame carved frieze with winged cherub heads. Traces of paint to the plinth.
