12 Drawer Oak Shop Haberdashery Display Counter

DESCRIPTION:
This is a super 12 drawer shop haberdashery display counter with internal glass shelf dating from approx. C1910. The counter is oak with oak drawer fronts and sides the sides being also of oak shows quality of the counter. Above the drawers is the glass shelf which is in two halves for easy removal, and this is accessed via two glass sliding doors with glass handles. The oak has mellowed to the most beautiful rich honey oak in colour. The counter stands on tapering legs with adjustable feet. The original oxidised copper cup handles look fantastic against the mellowed oak framing. This type of haberdashery counter having the glass shelf makes it very sought after for confectionery shops and bakers of the popular cupcakes the shelf being very useful for larger cakes or items to be displayed. This type of cabinet also looks great as kitchen island as we have sold and seen many being used for. This counter cabinet is great storage for many uses and outlets both residential as well as commercial and the quality of such pieces guarantees years of use and beauty.

WORKSHOP REPORT:
This counter has been through the workshop and has had a new laminated glass top fitted as the other was badly used and quite scratched. There is a very minor nibble to one of the drawers on the front but not seen from the front of the cabinet doesn’t in anyway impact on the beauty of the piece and should all be accepted as part and parcel of such an item and the history it holds.
