Wedgwood Ravilious 1937 Edward V111 Coronation Mug %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
This iconic image by Eric Ravilious was designed in 1936 and was his first commission from Wedgwood to commemorate the Coronation of Edward V111 in 1937. After the abdication, the mug was revised for the coronation of George V1, but the Edward version, produced in low quantities remains the rarer of the two. The design was again issued in 1953 in pink for the coronation of Elizabeth 11.
The mug/tankard is in superb condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, crazing or scratches. No restoration guaranteed.
