This vintage powder compact is suitable for use with loose, pressed / solid face powder or as a handbag mirror. The lipstick holder & mirror fits any size of lipstick.
An unused vintage Stratton Box Set made in the 1980s in superb condition with all the original features. The set comprises of a " Queen Convertible " compact & matching "LipView" - lipstick holder with built in mirror. Vintage Stratton accessories are well known for being beautiful, durable & & well designed. Both the compact & lipstick holder have impressed designs of scroll like foliage with alternating bands of impressed 'guilloche'. The all gilt finish on both accessories was coated with a protective layer of lacquer at the point of manufacture which means that these vanities will never tarnish or need to be cleaned. The compact has an excellent mirror with a frosted glass border. The original felt pouch is present & signed 'Stratton' in red letters. The original silk & foam puff is signed 'Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND'. The original sifter ensures that this compact may be used with loose powder as well as solid. The base of the compact is signed 'Stratton England' & decorated with an engine turned design of vertical lines & tiny chevrons.
The mirror of the "Lipview" is excellent too. The "Lipview" like the compact gleams. It is signed 'Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND REG. DES. NO. 934048'. This accessory is designed to hold your lipstick & it can accommodate any size of lipstick as the brass holding clasp is easily shaped around the lipstick tube to effect a good grip. The hinged lid contains a mirror which can be folded down when not in use. All clasps & hinges on both items work perfectly. Even the presentation box is in super condition. The box is signed " Stratton." The box is lined with beautiful grey faux silk & the outer box & interior base are covered with a matching light grey felt like material.
A delightful item with all the quality you expect from vintage Stratton accessories.
