This Stratton powder compact is suitable for use with loose and pressed / solid face powder or as a handbag mirror.
A very beautiful unused boxed enamel Stratton ' Convertible ' powder compact in superb new old stock condition. All the original accessories are included. The compact shows why this brand dominated British compact manufacturing throughout the twentieth century. The lid has the most beautiful deep crimson roses and green foliage. There is no loss of design. The background is lustrous satinized gilded brass. Just delightful! The gleaming brass is a deep rich gold tone and it is protected by a layer of clear enamel which means it will never oxidize and become tarnished. This compact will never need to be cleaned. The mirror is excellent and gives a clear accurate reflection. Included with this excellent compact is the original signed Stratton box, felt pouch, luxury Stratton puff, velour edged sifter, instruction leaflet and padded tissue paper insert. They are all in excellent unused condition. The powder well appears to be protected with beige enamel applied at the point of manufacture. All clasps and hinges work perfectly. The base is decorated with the all over star pattern and signed 'Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND'. The base is in superb condition too - the top half of the base is showing some reflections - in person the base is a uniform deep gold colour.
The Stratton ' Convertible ' powder compact measures 3 " and weighs 108.8 grams.
