Rockingham Bluebell Patern Teapot & Stand c1831-42

We have for sale one of the most attractive puce mark period (c1831-42) Rockingham teapots and stands we have ever had the good fortune to find.
This really lovely neo-rococo moulded teapot and stand with a twig handle, spout and finial is decorated in blue and gilt with a very pleasing and finely painted bluebell pattern. The teapot and stand are not marked with the Rockingham marks, however, services with the identical moulding are illustrated in "Rockingham Pottery and Porcelain" by D.G. Rice (Plate 106 and in "Rockingham Pottery & Porcelain 1745-1842" by Alwyn & Angela Cox (Plate 91). The latter service was exhibited at the Yorkshire Museum in York.
The teapot is 7 inches (17.8cm) high, and 9.5 inches (24.1cm) wide from handle to spout. The teapot and stand is in an excellent condition with no chips cracks or repairs and virtually no losses to the gilt. Extremely close examination does however reveal one or two very slight areas of discoloration associated with use.
