Rare Swansea Blind Earl Style Floral Dish c1816

We have for sale the perfect gift for the Swansea Porcelain collector, a very rare Swansea porcelain floral dessert dish dating to around 1816 decorated in the raised relief moulded "Blind Earl" style.
This very unusual Swansea dish was part of the Elis Jenkins collection and represents one of only two documented surviving pieces of this Swansea porcelain dessert service decorated with a polychrome design consisting of raised moulded flowers and leaves in the style of the 1770 Worcester Blind Earl and later (c1813) Flight Barr and Barr Worcester Blind Earl of Croome Court services. The only other known piece of this Swansea service is documented by W.D. John in his book Swansea Porcelain, colour plate 5. The dish carries Elis Jenkins collection labels to the base.
It is highly likely that the design of this Swansea service was influenced by William Billingsley's time at the Worcester factory where he would no doubt have seen the designs for 1813 Croome Court service just prior to his elicit move to Nantgarw.
The dish is 9.25 inches long, 18cm wide and is in a good antique condition. However there is some wear to the gilt/decoration and a hairline to the foot rim.
