Rare BURMANTOFTS Faience Monkey Figure c.1890
A very rare small BURMANTOFTS FAIENCE monkey figure. Standing only 2.75 inches high, this is a beautifully formed little monkey in a light treacle (dark honey?) Burmantofts faience glaze, with original glass eyes. These have become extremely rare and only occasionally come on the market.
Compared to the larger more common Burmantofts pieces, this may seem pricey (per cm!), but cost a lot to acquire. Quite happy to keep in my collection but will sell to a good home. Can't find any others for sale at present, although I do know of one or two in collections.
Condition is excellent with only minimal fine age crazing and one small kiln firing fault on his right hand. Fully marked to base with 'BURMANTOFTS FAIENCE' and design no '1996.
All white marks in the photos are reflections. Satisfaction Guarantee & Returns Policy.
Returns are accepted within 7 days. A full refund will be given provided the item is received in the same condition as when sold. Buyer is responsible for return postage/shipping costs, appropriate packaging and insurance.
