A pair of late 19th century, Meiji period (1868-1912), Japanese Kutani porcelain vases.

The vases have character marks underneath for Kutani Watano Sei - Watano Trading Company.

The vases are finely decorated with four panels, each depicting a different scene, rural scenes with geese and birds and ladies in traditional dress.

The vases are gourd shaped and have a pair of scroll handles with minute detailed decoration.

The vases are in good condition. (Circa 1890)
