An original 1937 Alphabet Mug by Eric Ravilious for Wedgwood. 8cm high. The various vignettes sybolising images he remembered from childhood. A for aeroplane / S for swan / U for umbrella etc. This is fabulous example in fantastic condition but please look closely at the photos as they form part of the description. The pink banding is hand applied over transfers and can appear lighter and darker. No chips, cracks, pattern loss or crazing. Appears unused with no internal staining. Not to be confused with modern reproductions and museum re-issues.
