This is a gorgeous set of 5 Victorian lily design tiles from the 1890s. The five tiles are set into an oak frame with a secure loop for hanging them on a wall. They may have been a display set for a 19th century tile showroom or someone may have simply had them framed as a decorative set, which they certainly are.

Although there is no maker's name on the tiles, they do all have a registered design number of 156690, which dates the design to 1890/91.

Alternatively they could be taken out of the frame and used as individual tiles to make a small splashback or felt backed for use as large coasters. There are many possibilities.

The tiles are in good condition with just some surface crackling to the glaze as you would expect after over 120 years. The oak frame is a good fit and holds the tiles securely. It's well made and in good condition with a lovely colour and patina to the wood.

The framed set is 32" / 81.5cm tall and 8.25" / 20.8cm wide. The individual tiles are 5.9" / 15cm square. The whole set weighs a total of 3.2kg.
