Pretty mid 19th century Meissen small cup and saucer of lobed form with shaped edge rimmed in gilt, each set on 6 stalk feet. The bodies are beautifully painted with small floral sprigs and butterflies in a myriad of bright pastel enamels. They are further decorated with applied mulit-coloured flowers and leaves and the cup is finished with a split handle formed as a twisted band of twigs tied at the bottom with a pink ribbon. Crossed swords mark to the base.

The cup measures 4.3cm (1 3/4") high, 7.5cm (3") rim to handle and 6cm (2 3/8) rim to rim. The saucer is 2.5cm (1") high and 10.3cm (4") wide. Condition is excellent with no body damage or restoration and just a couple of very small chips to the encrusted detail and minimal surface wear. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
