Large Victorian Mahogany Chest of Drawers
This lovely large antique chest of drawers dates from the second half of the nineteenth century. It is constructed from mostly solid mahogany with a cross-banded top. The chest consists of two small drawers over four long graduated drawers. The drawers have repalcement brass handles. They all retain their escutcheons and locks, but please note that no keys are present. The chest is supported on lovely shaped ogee bracket feet.
Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in good usuable condition with some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing, scratching, knocking and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, which is heavy in places, and the piece is overall a little faded. There are some areas of old repair to the veneers. There is some shrinkage cracking to the sides and to the drawer bases. The drawers are stiff and the drawer runners would benefit from some attention. There is some marking and scuffing to the top.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 115cm high, 95.5cm wide, 52.5cm deep (to maximums). Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
