Large Chinese dragon vase. Beautifully painted in underglaze blue, showing 3 cavorting 5-claw dragons chasing a pearl surrounded by clouds and flames, with lotus leaf scrolling borders. A quality piece, believed to date from the 18th Century or earlier. Acquired from an old Scottish collection. There are two original firing cracks to the base and small frits to the foot rim, as expected with a vase of this age. There are also two small old chips to the mouth.
