Offered for sale is this high quality gold plated Bunn Special pocket watch by the Illinois Watch Company of Springfield, Illinois. The watch has an enamel dial with Arabic numerals and subsidiary seconds. The case is stamped "10K Rolled Gold Plate" and has a screw-off front and back cover.
The motor barrel Bunn Special was the highest quality movement ever produced by Illinois. It has 21 jewels and has been adjusted to 6 positions and temperature. With the serial number 4952024, this watch dates from 1926/27. The watch comes with a gold plated Albert chain.
The gold plating is in very good order save for a minor scuff just right of the crown, as photographed. The dial is very clean, it has an incredibly small hairline between 7 and 8. The lever movement is very clean and keeping excellent time.
