A Spectacular & Huge Chinese Blue and White Charger.

On a scale all of its own, it must be reiterated that this dish is vast and is a true 'country house' piece.

Beautifully hand-painted throughout depicting a charming scene of friendship and gift-sharing amid a terrace setting, beneath the curved bough of a tree, all enclosed by a broad, flaring rim painted with floral, geometric and butterfly motifs.

Would look absolutely amazing hung on the wall, centrally above a mantlepiece, or perhaps positioned as a centrepiece on a piece of period antique furniture.

The condition isn't perfect but it still looks fantastic and displays brilliantly.

Dimensions -

Massive: 54.5 cms diameter!

Condition:

Several hairline and stress cracks around the edge, as clearly shown...not too distracting. One section to the rim (approx 20 cms) away and reglued neatly. A little associated loss to this area to the underside, as shown. General age-related wear to the surface interior in places with a few deeper scratches. Overall firing speckling and discolouration. No unsightly chips or restoration, apart from the one reglued section, as noted.
