Graham Sutherland - Foley Harrods Exhibition 1934
A stunning and rare tea cup and saucer in the White Rose pattern, produced by Foley China and designed by Graham Sutherland for the 1934 Harrods and Art in Industry Exhibitions. An example is displayed in the V&A Museum.
Saucer Dia - 5.5" (14cm)
Cup - Height - 6cm
Excellent condition. No chips, cracks, hairlines or crazing. Both have a nice ring when tapped. What appears to be transfer inconsistency is the random design, recognised and associated with all pieces produced in this pattern. Minute glaze scratch on the back of the saucer is a kiln resting point and again, recognised with this ware.
