The watch has a calibre 351 bumper automatic movement which is working nicely. This particular calibre was in production from 1949 until 1952. The serial number on this movement is 12,016,005 which dates it back 1950. The movement is fully signed.
This watch has the same movement and case as an Omega Seamaster but is not signed as such.
Early automatic movements such as this one relied on the rotor ‘bumping’ backwards and forwards between two springs to maintain the power within the movement. Later automatic watches have the fully rotational rotor.
The watch measures 34.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel and it is in lovely condition. The inside of the case back has the Omega logo and the case reference C2577-1 which is correct for the calibre 351. Omega signed winding crown.
Omega lens, with the tiny clear Omega logo to the centre, all in very nice condition.
The signed dial appears to have been re-finished at some stage. Original hands, second sweep, gilded batons and an Arabic 12.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
