First Period Worcester Small Polychrome Sauceboat
Very sweet little ornate shaped Worcester sauceboat or cream boat, c.1756 decorated in polychrome enamels. Moulded decoration to the walls and around the foot base, lovely sharply inverted shoulders leading to a slender spout and simple angled loop handle with thumb spur. Each side has a painted chinese scene, one of a fisherman standing under a willow and the other of a house by the sea and a boat. Floral sprays are painted inside and a pretty dark turquoise bands with red and black highlights covers the shoulders.
It measures 2 7/8" high, 5 1/4" long and 3" wide. Condition is very good with no damage bar 2 small nicks to the inside of the rim and a small frit to the foot rim. No restoration and very light surface wear for age and use. There is a small dot of erroneous enamel near the spout. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
