Early 19th Century teak and ebony chest
Early 19th Century Ceylonese teak and ebony chest / coffer, the hinged lift up top, with ebony moulding, opening to reveal a large compartment space, the outside of the top sections having original brass carrying handles to the sides and brass stud decoration and escutcheon at the front, shaped ebony mouldings at each corner, the bottom section having two drawers with brass swan neck handles and escutcheons, shaped apron with ebony inlaid decoration, standing on bold turned feet. Circa 1840.
