Very difficult to be sure of allocating a specific origin to this costrel but certainly it's closer to the output of the Verwood potteries in shape and style. The shoulders hark back to the leather water bottles with the stitched seam over the top surrounding the neck. It arrived with me from the estate of Islwyn Watkins, artist and ceramics expert.
