Coalport Regency Porcelain Boat Cream Jug c.1810

A pretty Georgian bone china porcelain milk jug, of boat form with distinctive raised strap handle with sharply angled inward step at the bottom and flattened thumb rest sitting just below the top of the handle. A broad running frieze of stylised cornflowers, loosely painted with sky blue and violet enamel and delicate gilt stems, buds and feathery foliage. Further gilded bands around the foot, shoulder and rim and foliate border running below the rim and up the handle. Unmarked, attributed to Coalport (John Rose), teawares of Class D type, c.1807-1810.

It measures 12cm (4 3/4") high, 15cm (5 7/8") spout to handle and 8cm (3 1/8") wide.
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration. Very minor handling wear. There are two minor spots of erroneous gilding, one near the base and one just below a gilt line, both original to the piece. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
