A lovely Clark & Co thread holder with an image of a child with a dog on the lid and around the outside 'The ABC Oracle'. The label on the inside of the lid dates this box to between 1860 with the advent of the sewing machine and 1896 when Clark joined with Coats. The three wooden reel holders are absent on the inside.
