Here we have for sale a fine example of Clarice Cliff’s seminal and iconic Art Deco style crocus pattern hand painted side plate designed in 1928.

The crocus pattern was one of Clarice Cliff’s signature designs and is so historically important that it is featured in Britain’s Victoria & Albert Museum collection.

Condition report

Quite worn in places and some age related wear and the paint has rubbed off in areas of the brown centre, but has no chips, cracks and no evidence of heavy crazing a good example overall, there are firing faults and stains to the back of the plate but an overall presentable piece in sound condition, a lovely original vintage Clarice Cliff plate.
